Lives and works in Caracas, Venezuela

Studies:
(Caracas 1991 - 1996) He studied at the “ Instituto Universitario de Estudios Superiores de Artes Plásticas Armando Reverón”

Themes and style:
Using the traditional medium of oil on wood, Araujo creates works associated with the history of painting, photography, publications, catalogues, magazines, postcards and posters.

Araujo pays tribute to the history of art while also considering what remains of the essence, texture, medium and argument of a work once it has been reproduced. For the 9th Sharjah Biennial he presented a series of oil painting appropriations of reproductions and photographs taken from architectural books that offered images of prominent buildings he had visited over the years.

Techniques:
Oil painting on photograph
