Themes and
style:
Kürten
creates layered, intricately detailed depictions of architecture, landscapes,
and domestic interiors. Typically devoid of overt depictions of figures, human
presence is indirectly referenced through the portrayal of the familiar spaces
of everyday life. Kürten often incorporates decorative motifs drawn from
wallpaper or textiles, resulting in works that are simultaneously realistic
depictions of the mundane and formalist experiments of line and pattern.
Techniques:
His work
is developed in paintings. He is also musician.
