In his Own words...
“I consider my paintings as
tragic and painful expressions, and I can even say that they are all scenes of
combat,” he discloses. “But we can’t always express things too directly, so I
think that we can express ourselves through laughter. In this way, we have the
feeling that there is always joy. In other words, I express painful emotions in
a comical style. This type of expression is preferable because, on one hand,
joy is an acceptable feeling for everyone but, on the other hand, when we look
at my paintings for long enough, we feel that they are expressions of sadness
or pain.”
